1. Measure the flat width
How:

Lay the bag flat.

Measure straight across the opening (side to side). This number is used to calculate the diameter.
⚠️ Don’t measure around the circumference—this is a common mistake.
2. Measure the length
How:

Measure from the top of the bag (just below the snap band, cuff, or collar down to the very bottom of the bag
Note: Include the entire usable fabric length, but exclude metal snap bands or mounting hardware unless the supplier specifically asks for it.
3. Identify the top style
This is critical for compatibility. Common types:

5. Note the material
If possible, identify what the bag is made of:

Polyester

Polypropylene

Aramid (Nomex®)

Cotton

Fiberglass
If you’re unsure, note:

Operating temperature

Moisture or oil exposure

Type of dust
6. Count quantity and check tolerances

Measure more than one bag if possible (they can stretch over time)

Most collectors accept ± ¼” tolerance, but always confirm
